Bookkeeper

Job Description 

We are a renowned law firm having offices in Saskatoon.

Duties:
– Perform general bookkeeping tasks, including but not limited to budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, tax preparation, bank reconciliation, and accounts payable.
– Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
– Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
– Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
– Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
– Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
– Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and answering inquiries.
– Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Experience:
– Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
– Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
– Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
– Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Knowledge of governmental accounting is a plus.
– Familiarity with 10-key typing is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.13 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Saskatoon, SK S7L 6M5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)
