HR Generalist
Job Description
Our client is seeking an individual looking to join an agile, dynamic, and motivated team in the artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic technology industry. Our technology aims to help protect the environment by supporting the sustainable development of the marine industry. We are looking for an HR Generalist who is a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized, and friendly to join our administrative team in Halifax, NS.
The responsibilities of our HR Generalist will include, but is not limited to:
- Leading and managing the whole recruitment process including drafting job description, posting it on recruitment website, screening candidates, contacting candidates, interviewing, preparing job offers, and onboarding new hires
- Provide orientation for new hires
- Leading and managing offboarding procedures, including drafting termination letter, delivering news to the employee, conducting offboarding interview, and obtaining all office equipment from terminated employee
- Maintaining and updating policies and procedures to keep the company running smoothly and efficiently
- Provide counseling on policies and procedures
- Maintaining and updating employee profiles/records as needed
- Creating performance review reports to present to the higher management team
- Managing and maintaining pay and benefits administration and other human resource functions
- Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
- Administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the business
- Other duties as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum two years of proven experience in HR or office management
- Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.)
- Understanding labor laws and disciplinary procedures
- Strong ethics and reliability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and proactive mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

- Creativity and ability to suggest improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
