YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE

Fixed Term (24 months) Full Time, 80 hours a fortnight with ADO

Applications are invited for a research assistant in the Department of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Cancer Imaging at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The project aims to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals (theranostic) for metastatic cancer. The radiopharmaceutical Sciences team is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team including experts in peptide chemistry, radiochemistry, tumour biology, biochemistry, cancer imaging, and nuclear medicine. The position requires a Research Assistant with experience in peptide chemistry and organic synthesis to provide technical and research support to a growing research program.

The successful candidate should hold a BSc or equivalent. A background in peptide chemistry/organic chemistry is essential. The successful applicant will be expected to be productive and have excellent organizational and time management skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills. In this role the successful candidate will be expected to use a variety of techniques including classical organic synthetic methodology, solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis, a range of purification and characterisation techniques including chromatography, HPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy, CD spectroscopy and others.
