  • Salary – Classification – AHP2 – Allied Health Professional L2 – $86,950 to $100,729

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service.

The Opportunity

As the Social Worker – Intensive Therapeutic Care Program, you will be responsible for providing intensive therapeutic support to young people who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive who are aged and are at risk of, or are currently, being sexually exploited and frequently missing from care. The Social Worker also works with the young person’s families, carers, support networks and/or significant others.

In this role of Social Worker – Intensive Therapeutic Care Program – you will collaborate with staff from other agencies and support the care team and others to provide direct care and intervention to the young person. You will assertively engage using approaches requiring mobility and flexible to give therapeutic support.

About You

To be eligible you must have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. (Overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number).

To be successful in this role, you will use your demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic counselling to young people who are at risk of or have been sexually assaulted. You should be able to relate well to people from a wide range of backgrounds and professions.

If you have experience in the provision of therapeutic services to young people who have experienced sexual abuse/assault along with demonstrated experience working in crisis and trauma situations, then this is the role for you, and we encourage you to apply.
